Questions to discuss with parents/ older children

  • How important is it that you make lifestyle changes to help you/ your child lose weight?
  • Does your child being overweight weight bother you or your child?
  • Are you aware of the health risks of being overweight?
  • Is your decision to lose weight your own, or for someone else?
  • Who if anyone, is supportive of your decision to begin a weight loss programme? What kind of support would you like to have?
  • Are there any events in your life right now that might make losing weight especially difficult?
  • If now is not a convenient time for weight loss, what would it take for you to be ready to lose weight? When do you think you might be ready to begin losing weight?

On balance, how do you feel about losing weight?
