Breast Imaging (prior to Outpatient Appointment)

Thank you for attending your breast imaging appointment today.
You will have been given a verbal report of the imaging that has been performed today.

If you have had a mammogram as part of your imaging, we may need to obtain previous images to perform a comparison.

Very occasionally review of the mammogram may require you to be recalled for further assessment. On some occasions this may involve a needle test to determine the nature of an area of breast tissue.

If any of these extra tests are required, you will be contacted directly by the Radiology Department within two weeks of your initial breast imaging appointment.
The breast imaging results will be sent to the Breast Clinic at Frimley Park Hospital.

You will then receive an appointment to see one of the doctors in the Breast Clinic (as this is the referral pathway chosen for you by your GP) which may take up to four weeks. You will obtain your imaging results from the Breast Clinic, as well as a clinical examination, and a results letter, with a full report, will be sent in due course.

If you have any further questions regarding your Outpatient Appointment, please contact the Breast Secretaries on: 0300 613 2358 / 0300 613 4160
