1. Wrist kneadingwrist kneeding.png

Push the heel of your hand into a dome of putty - as if kneading dough. Try to keep your elbow straight to get a direct stretch on the wrist and keep your wrist aligned.

Hold for 5 seconds, relax. Repeat_________

2. Hand Extension Stretch

  • Place your hand on a flattened dome of putty. Use your other forearm to apply gentle pressure behind the joints that require a stretch, e.g. the knuckles or middle joints of the fingers.
  • Hold the stretch for a slow count of 5 and then fold the putty over, repeat_________

3. Flexing the fingers into the putty

This exercise helps to improve bending the knuckles and finger joints, to make a fist.

  • Rest your wrist and forearm on the table.
  • Straighten your knuckles whilst keeping the fingers bent in a "hook" position
  • Hold behind the putty with your other hand to provide resistance
  • Slowly push your fingers into the putty allowing them to tuck fully before bending the knuckles
  • As you continue to push, your hand will gradually form a fist
  • Keep the base of your hand on the table and the thumb out to the side throughout the exercise
  • Remove your hand and shape the putty back into a ball. Repeat_________
