These exercises will work on your thumb muscle strength, holding and moving against resistance.

Thumb Extension

With the band around the back of your thumb move the thumb away from the hand (thumbs up) against resistance.

Thumb Flexion 

With the band around the palm side of the thumb pull thumb into palm (bend the thumb) against resistance

Thumb Abduction

Place the hand on the table, with the little finger down and the thumb tucked in. Put the band around the outside of the thumb and move the thumb away from the palm (parallel with the table) against resistance.

Thumb Adduction

Place the hand on the table, with the little finger down and the thumb out from the hand. Put the band around the inside of the thumb and move the thumb toward the palm (parallel with the table) against resistance.
