Library & Knowledge Services

The Trust has dedicated healthcare libraries at Frimley Park and Wexham Park Hospitals. Our main purpose is to support our staff but we can also help patients and members of the public find high quality health information. Please note, you should discuss any concerns about your health with your GP or healthcare professional in the first instance. We cannot replace your Doctor’s advice, but can signpost you to additional information.

Your local Public Library is also an excellent source of information and resources such as the Reading Well collection and the Library Direct Home Service.

Reference Books & Journals

Trust libraries have a wide range of healthcare-related books and online journals. Access is by prior arrangement only; please contact us to find out more.

Not everything on the internet is trustworthy, accurate or up-to-date. These quality standards are there to help you find the most reliable sources:

The PIF TICK

The only UK quality mark for trustworthy health information. To be awarded the PIF TICK, an organization must meet 10 criteria for its health information production process. For more information, go to: https://pifonline.org.uk/pif-tick/

NHS Standard for creating health content

This standard outlines some essential requirements and best practice guidance for creating high quality health content. It's designed for any organisation that produces health and care information.. For more information, go to: https://service-manual.nhs.uk/content/standard-for-creating-health-content

NHS Knowledge & Library Services

have also created a page of Health Information resources for patients, their families and carers, including a Misinformation UNMASKED checklist, health literacy toolkit, and links to free elearning. To find our more, visit: https://library.nhs.uk/health-information/
