Meal pattern

  • 3 small meals and 3 snacks plus milk

Meat, fish etc.

 

  • ½ - 1 tablespoon (20-30g) minced/finely chopped with gravy/sauce
  • ½ - 1 hard boiled/well cooked egg

Cheese

  • 20g grated

Potato

  • 1 tablespoon (30g) mashed

Fruit and Vegetables

 

  • ½ - 1 piece (40-80g)
  • 1 tablespoon (30g)             
  • Aim for 5/day

Dessert (e.g. custard/yoghurt)

  • 2 tablespoons (60g)

Bread

  • ½ - 1 slice (20-30g)

Breakfast cereal

 

  • 1 tablespoon (15g)
  • ½ Weetabix

Drinks

 

  • ¾ teacup (100ml)         
  • Aim for 6-8 drinks/day

Milk

  • 500ml whole milk/day

  • 1 sausage
  • 1 egg

  • 25-30g cubed or grated

Potato

  • 1-2 tablespoons (30-60g); 6 smallish chips

Fruit and Vegetables

  • 1 piece (80-100g)
  • 1-2 tablespoon (30-60g)        
  • Aim for 5/day

Dessert (e.g. custard/yoghurt)

  • 2-3 tablespoons (60-80g)
