This page is designed for people taking medications for the treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) or other conditions that may require these medications.

Why am I receiving this information?

You are receiving this information as you are taking these medications for the treatment of TB or other conditions.
Unfortunately, there are global stock shortages with these medicines which have now become critical.
Your TB specialists will review your medicines and supply you with alternative medicines as needed.

Why are there drug shortages?

This is due to manufacturing issues and an increased demand for these drugs internationally.

How long will the shortage last?

The supply disruptions are expected to end by late December 2025. This date may change.
All UK TB services and pharmacies within the community and hospitals are affected.

What should I do during this time with my TB medication?

Check the amount of medication you have available.
Inform your TB specialist if you have less than 10 days treatment remaining.

Will my TB treatment medication change?

The look of your TB medication or its container may change. This is because we might need to use alternative suppliers.
However, you will still receive the same medicine, even if the packaging or formulation looks different.
