About the Service

The Community Gynaecology Specialist will review referrals and provide either:

  • Advice and Guidance to support management within primary care; or
  • A recommendation for onward referral to secondary care where appropriate.

Early pilot results have shown that approximately 50% of routine gynaecology referrals can be managed within the community, helping women access appropriate care more quickly and ensuring hospital services remain available for those who need specialist assessment.

Thank you for your support in implementing this pathway and improving access to gynaecology services for our patients.
