We recognise the valuable contribution that our military and ex-military personnel make and we shall ensure that they are never disadvantaged because of their service.
We are in a unique position of having the Joint Hospital Group (South East) (JHGSE) based at Frimley Park Hospital.
Not all hospitals have regular military personnel fully integrated into their services, but we do, working alongside our NHS colleagues in many departments.
For this reason we also have a significant number of service spouses and service family members working for us and using our services.
If you should have cause to use our services please ensure that you tell the receptionist of the department you are attending that you are military or ex-military, so that our records can be kept up-to-date.
Our Trust recently signed the Armed Forces Covenant, cementing our commitment to the armed forces community within our hospitals and celebrating Silver standard for the hard work that is carried out by many of our employees.
Our commitment to the covenant means that the armed forces community should not face any disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of healthcare and that special consideration is appropriate in some case, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the bereaved.
Defence Medical Welfare Service
Partnerships with other health organisations such as the Defence Medical Welfare Service mean we may have additional care pathways available. Any NHS staff involved in the care of any serving or veteran soldier/airman or sailor should offer the services of the DMWS.
