Information for ward visitors from August 2020

You must not attend one of our hospitals if you answer 'yes' to any of the following questions:

Do you have new symptoms of a cough?

Do you have a high fever or a temperature?

Do you have a change or loss of taste or smell?

Do you have new symptoms of shortness of breath?

Have you been in contact with anyone who has either a cough or fever in the 14 days before your appointment?

Have you been in contact with anyone confirmed to be Coronavirus positive in the last 14 days?

If you have answered ‘No’ to all of the above, you may attend one of our hospitals for your visit as planned.

If you have answered ‘Yes’ to any of the above please do not visit our hospitals, and if your symptoms are serious, or get worse, NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need further medical help and advise you what to do.
The most up-to-date public guidance is available online at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus.

If approved to visit a patient:

Consider whether your visit is essential. Can it wait until the patient gets home? If you do come please minimise the amount of belongings you bring in for the patient.
Your contact details will be taken to support NHS Test and Trace.
When you arrive please go straight to the ward you are visiting. Remember to stay 2 metres apart. Do not visit any other part of the hospital.
Check the latest advice on face coverings, and be prepared to wear one if asked to by staff- requirements may vary depending on staff assessment of the risks at the time.
Only one nominated visitor will be allowed per patient, and this must be the same person on each visit. This is to minimise risk of infection.
Visiting slots are for just one hour.
It is important to wash your hands more often with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds. If this is not possible please use hand sanitiser.
You may want to bring a bottle of water to drink. Our restaurants and cafes are closed for visitors.

All inpatients at Frimley Health are provided with lots of food, snacks and water. They are also provided with blankets and pillows. You may still want to bring in personal items for a patient but please be mindful that space on our wards is limited and that there are some items that we cannot accept. See the list below for what you can and can't bring in for a patient.
