Free health event to unveil new cardiology community service

Residents interested in their local NHS hospital are invited to attend Frimley Health’s first virtual health event of 2023 on Tuesday 21 February 6.30pm-7.30pm.

The special theme of the event is heart health, with experienced cardiologist, Dr Peter Clarkson, talking about a new cardiology service which will significantly reduce waiting times for patients,

The Frimley Health cardiology team is training a number of GPs across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire to provide low-risk cardiology services. The new community cardiology hubs will help to free up hospital services for more serious cases and patients with low-risk conditions could be diagnosed and treated at their local GP surgery, rather than travelling to hospital for an appointment.

Full details will be unveiled in the virtual health event, which is open to all members of the public, as well as Trust members. The event will also provide an insight into the wider cardiology services, the latest achievements that have led to Frimley Health becoming a centre of excellence and the vision for the future of cardiology of the Trust. Dr Clarkson will be joined by three of his colleagues, including fellow cardiologist, Dr Lydia Sturridge.
