NHS Big TeaThe NHS will mark its 73rd birthday on Monday 5 July and Frimley Health Charity will help staff to celebrate by sharing out cakes across the Trust for the nation’s biggest tea party.

Cakes and goodies donated by local companies will be handed out by the charity team and volunteers to staff in Frimley, Heatherwood and Wexham, as well as community hubs in Fleet and Farnham.

The celebrations will form part of the NHS Big Tea, a national event organised by NHS Charities Together to encourage as many people as possible to get involved in an “outpouring of love and thanks for NHS staff and volunteers”. The NHS Big Tea will be held across the country, either virtually or in person, giving friends, family, neighbours and work colleagues the chance to reflect and say thank you.

People in our local communities are also being encouraged to show their support by taking 5 minutes to enjoy a tea break, texting TEA to 70560 and donating £5 to support Frimley Health Charity and tagging three friends on social media to call on them to do the same.

Frimley Health Charity has already funded a range of projects to support the wellbeing of staff across the Trust. It was thanks to generous donations received from local communities, NHS Charities Together and Sir Captain Tom Moore’s fund during Covid that the charity was able to complete the first phase of the staff room refurbishment programme and the new wellbeing garden at Frimley Park. Further donations will be used to fund the next phase of the upgrade programme and invested in a range of different projects being organised by the charity.
