Frimley Health Values Logo

We offer a full range of paediatric or children’s services in dedicated child and family friendly environments. Children are seen in separate emergency departments and outpatient department areas by medical and nursing staff specially trained in paediatrics.

The children's unit offers a wide range of facilities to care for children of different age groups, including a dedicated teenage unit at Frimley Park Hospital. Separate areas on the ward are designated for children with medical conditions, children having surgery and those suffering from infectious diseases.

Our multi-disciplinary team of community paediatricians provides expertise in child development, social and educational paediatrics. Community paediatricians work closely with, and provide medical advice to education services and social service departments.

Specialists within the department offer a wide range of paediatric professional skills and run regular specialist clinics:

How to contact us, including for blood tests

Extra advise for children having a blood test:
Children coming for a blood test will benefit from drinking lots (water if fasting) and to keeping warm prior to their appointment. If they are anxious Emla cream or it's equivalent can be applied to both inner elbows 1 1/2 hours prior to the test, secured with a triple layer of clingfilm is really helpful. If the GP doesn't prescribe this it is available over the counter from any pharmacy.
