Nursing and Midwifery coverThis May we are proud to launch our brand-new Nursing and Midwifery Strategy which sits alongside the Trust’s strategy ‘Our future FHFT’ and sets out an exciting vision for our nursing and midwifery workforce:

To provide our patients and communities with research based, outstanding care by highly skilled, well supported, valued professionals across all care settings.

Our Nursing and Midwifery Strategy has been developed by our staff to describe and outline how their professions will contribute to achieving the overall Trust vision and values.

We are fortunate to be able to put our people first and focus on the wellbeing of our teams through our participation the Magnet4Europe (M4E) programme, which aims to understand the correlation between a well-supported, valued workforce and patient outcomes.

The new strategy is built on the values that by Supporting our staff, by ensuring they feel valued and recognised and by providing Development opportunities to build a clinically excellent workforce, our professionals will have the tools they need to Achieve our strategy vision and ambitions (SDA).

The six ambitions of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy are:

  1. Improve care outcomes & Fundamentals and Better Care (FAB)
  2. Develop a framework for professional practice
  3. Career development and pathways
  4. Leadership
  5. Celebrating success
  6. Improve health, wellbeing and inclusion

Lorna Wilkinson, Chief of Nursing and Midwifery, said: “I am incredibly proud to introduce the Nursing & Midwifery Strategy.

“We are extremely lucky at Frimley Health to have such a talented and diverse nursing and midwifery workforce who are central to delivering the outcomes, care and the patient experience we are justifiably proud of – and we don’t stop there.

“This strategy describes how we will continue to learn, improve, and strengthen our professional voice for the benefit of the communities we serve.”
