Important information: Planned resident doctor industrial action
Strike dates: 7am, Friday 25 July – 7am, Wednesday 30 July

Patient care will continue to be our priority

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to ensuring patient safety and high-quality care during the upcoming resident doctors’ (formerly junior doctors) industrial action.

While some services may experience disruption, we want to reassure patients and the wider public that:

  • Emergency care and critical services WILL remain open and fully operational.
  • Cancer, maternity, neonatal, urgent care, and life-saving treatments will be prioritised throughout.
  • Senior doctors and healthcare professionals will be on site to support safe patient care at all times.

What should patients expect

Emergency and urgent care

  • If you have a serious or life-threatening emergency, please use our A&E departments as normal.
  • For urgent medical concerns, NHS 111 is available 24/7 for advice on your best care options.

Outpatient appointments and procedures

  • Some routine appointments and non-urgent procedures may be rescheduled during strike days.
  • If your appointment is affected, we will contact you directly—please attend as planned unless you hear from us.
  • We are prioritising cancer and time-sensitive care. If you are on these pathways, expect your appointment to go ahead as normal.

Prescriptions and ongoing treatments

  • Pharmacy and outpatient therapies will continue, with extra support scheduled where needed.
  • For repeat prescriptions, please order in advance, if possible.

How you can help

  • Please attend your scheduled appointment unless contacted.
  • Only use A&E for emergencies; for less urgent care use NHS 111, your pharmacy, or GP.
  • Please be patient with our staff - our teams are working hard to support everyone’s care during this period.

Our commitment to you

We thank all patients and families for your understanding, support, and cooperation. Our staff are dedicated to keeping you safe and ensuring essential NHS services remain available.
