Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust has been ranked ninth out of 134 acute and specialist trusts in England in the latest NHS Oversight Framework results, published today by NHS England.

The trust, which runs Frimley Park, Wexham Park and Heatherwood hospitals and community services across Surrey, Berkshire and north-east Hampshire, has also been placed in Segment 1 – the highest of four segments, reserved for high-performing organisations.

The framework assesses every NHS trust against a common set of national measures covering urgent and emergency care, planned care and cancer waiting times, patient safety and experience, workforce and finance. Under the 2026/27 framework, Segment 1 is only available to trusts that are both performing significantly better than average and delivering their financial plan.

Twelve months ago, the trust was placed in Segment 3 under the framework's financial rule, which applies to any trust reporting a deficit. Since then, the trust has improved its financial position while continuing to improve services for patients, including in urgent and emergency care and cancer.

"To be ranked ninth in the country is a tremendous result and it belongs entirely to our 13,000 colleagues. A year ago, we were clear that our rating reflected our finances, not our care. Today's result show that we have improved our finances while continuing to improve the services our patients rely on. That is hard to do and I am immensely proud of the team.

"This isn't a finishing line. We know where we still need to be better, and some of our buildings are not what our patients or our staff deserve. But it gives our communities good reason to have confidence in the care we provide, and it gives us more freedom to keep improving."
