Frimley Health transforms eye services at Heatherwood Hospital
Hospital eye services are in high demand, almost 10% of the national NHS backlog is in ophthalmology with hundreds of thousands of patients across the country currently on the waiting list to start treatment. The eye services we offer at Frimley Health was discussed at our health event, on 28 November.

Manju Chandran, consultant ophthalmic surgeon and Dr Lorraine North, consultant orthoptist and head of ophthalmology services / strategy will talk about the success in increasing the number of cataracts procedures at Heatherwood. More than 3500 cataracts ops have been carried out since the new hospital opened and the local waiting lists for cataracts is now just 2-4 weeks.
