Patients sometimes need to undergo blood tests to aid the diagnosis of illnesses. Blood tests are undertaken in our outpatient departments by phlebotomists.

Some blood tests require a patient to fast for a period of time before the blood test is undertaken. Your GP or consultant will tell you if this is the case.

Please ensure that you bring along the blood test request form that was given to you by your doctor.

The service provided by Frimley Park Hospital is carried out at both Frimley Park and Farnham Hospitals' outpatient departments and at Aldershot Centre for Health. To access the service patients need a blood test referral form from their GP or consultant.

  • Frimley Park Hospital (Outpatients department 1): Monday to Friday 08.30 – 16:45, last ticket issued at 16.30. This clinic is for patients referred by clinicians from Frimley Park Hospital only. And some specialist  tests that may be ordered
  • Farnham Hospital (Outpatients department): Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:15, last ticket issued at 16:00. This clinic is for patients referred by hospital clinicans and/or their GPs
  • Aldershot Centre for Health: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:45, last ticket issued at 16:30pm. This clinic is for patients referred by hospital clinicians and/or their GPs.

Please note that some blood tests require a patient to fast for a period of time before the blood test is undertaken. Your GP or consultant will advise you if this is the case.

Please Note: If there is a high demand the issuing of tickets may be withdrawn to allow the service to finish on time.  If the issuing of tickets is withdrawn before stated times a notice to that effect will be displayed.  

Clinics operate a number system and patients should take a number on arrival.

Patients arriving 30 minutes before the clinic closed will be issued with a number and will be seen. Patients arriving less than 30 minutes before the clinic closing time are advised that although they may choose to wait, we are unable to guarantee they will be seen and may be asked to return another day.
