Mr Bott has worked at Frimley Park since 2008. He has a broad urology interest treating a range of conditions but his particular focus is in prostate problems and urinary stone issues. He is the Lead for the Prostate cancer service at Frimley, seeing patients in clinic and performing fusion prostate biopsies. This was the first unit in the country to get the Koelis Trinity system, which is a very accurate way to biopsy the prostate, looking for possible cancers. He has done 300-400 of these to date. He is also the Lead for stone issues in the Trust, and set up and manages the lithotripsy service. He takes on complex stone cases for the trust and for neighbouring hospitals.
Research interests
- Prostate cancer - Mr Bott has been awarded an MD at The Institute of Urology (UCL) in London for his thesis on the genetics of prostate cancer.
- He has published over 50 papers on prostate cancer and given over 60 presentations at national and international meetings.
- He has written several books on urology and regularly run courses to train doctors and nurses in urology and prostate biopsy techniques.
- He is running several studies in prostate cancer currently.
