Professional background

Mr Abhishek Reekhaye is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon specialising in kidney and upper urinary tract cancer. He works at the Frimley Renal Cancer Centre, a high-volume specialist centre known for excellent outcomes and short hospital stays after robotic surgery.

He trained in South London and completed advanced fellowships at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Frimley Health, followed by consultant experience at Royal Free Hospital, managing complex kidney tumours. He has performed over 120 robotic kidney cancer operations in his first year as a consultant.

His practice focuses on minimally-invasive robotic surgery, including partial and radical nephrectomy and nephroureterectomy. He has particular expertise in the retroperitoneal approach, which can reduce pain, avoid the bowel and support faster recovery, especially in patients with previous abdominal surgery.

He also treats conditions such as ureteric obstruction with reconstructive procedures including pyeloplasty and ureteric re-implantation.

Mr Reekhaye is committed to clear communication, personalised care and helping patients understand their options to make informed decisions.
