Hundreds of fun runners and serious athletes are expected to take to the streets around Frimley Park Hospital on Sunday 6 May for Run Frimley, the annual 10km road race and 2.5km fun run. And once again organisers are urging participants to raise as much sponsorship money as possible
Transforming care for local renal patients
A specialist renal unit opened at Frimley Park, making inpatient kidney care available locally for the first time. The eight-bed unit means patients can get dialysis treatment at the hospital instead of transferring to another centre. Inpatients with serious kidney problems were previously taken to a specialist renal care hub at St Helier Hospital in south-west London.
Strictly star returns to Wexham Park
BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke returned to Slough’s Wexham Park Hospital on 31 January to cut the ribbon on a £10m upgrade to maternity and women’s services. The pro dancer, whose wife Hannah gave birth to twins at the hospital last year, was the guest of honour at a ceremony marking the end of an expansion and refurbishment programme.

Slough's A&E reaches new heights
Hospital chiefs and contractors marked a major milestone in the building of a new £49m emergency department and assessment centre on Friday 5 January. The ‘topping out’ ceremony for what will be Wexham Park Hospital’s brand new facility marked the symbolic completion of the highest part of the building.
Trust makes armed forces pledge
Frimley Health has reinforced its commitment to supporting British military personnel across its community by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant. The trust made the pledge to enshrine the covenant in its staff and patient policies, services and projects to ensure no current or former personnel are disadvantaged by serving their country.
Trust appoints next chief executive
Neil Dardis has been named as the next chief executive of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The decision to appoint Neil to the top job at the trust that runs Frimley Park, Wexham Park and Heatherwood hospitals comes after current chief executive Sir Andrew Morris announced that he would be retiring from the trust in February 2018. Neil is currently chief executive of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
