Organisers of Run Wexham have issued a rallying call to the community to support its next fundraising venture. People are being asked to step up for a charity run challenge and help seriously ill children at Slough's Wexham Park Hospital get the best possible care. Frimley Health Charity’s annual Run Wexham event takes place on Sunday 17 July - a sponsored 10km trail race and 2.8km fun run.

Two decades of military partners

Hospital staff and military colleagues are looking back on 20 years of working in partnership caring for the local community. The Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit (MDHU) was established at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust in February 1996. It followed a restructuring of military medical services away from standalone military hospitals, such as the Cambridge Military in Aldershot, to integrated units hosted by NHS acute trusts.

Run Frimley 2016

This year’s Run Frimley was officially the biggest yet. A record 2,000 people - including trust staff - entered the annual 10km road race and 2.5km fun run on May 1. That’s 300 more than the previous best set last year. The event has already raised £60,000 for Frimley Health Charity’s Breast Care Appeal, with more money still pouring in.

The ceremony at the Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot ​applauded outstanding work to improve the experiences of patients and the delivery of services at Frimley Park, Wexham Park and Heatherwood hospitals, as well as our satellite units.

Industrial action - 26,27 April 2016

A full emergency service will continue at Frimley Health’s hospitals during the two days of industrial action proposed by junior doctors next week, but many planned operations and outpatient clinics will be rescheduled. Between 8am and 5pm next Tuesday and Wednesday (26, 27 April) the British Medical Association has called for the first national withdrawal of all labour by junior doctors in the history of the NHS. This will have a bigger impact on planned services than earlier actions when junior doctors continued to provide emergency cover. Please attend appointments as normal unless we contact you directly.

Countdown to Run Frimley

Hundreds of runners have already signed up for Frimley Health Charity’s annual 10km road race and 2.5km fun run on Sunday 1 May. Now organisers are calling for more people to join the crowds stepping up to the challenge and raising money for a dedicated breast care centre at Frimley Park Hospital.

Industrial action 6-8 April

A number of operations and outpatient clinics at Frimley Health's hospitals have been rescheduled as a result of the planned industrial action by junior doctors this week. We have already notified, or are in the process of notifying, all patients who will be affected by the national action taking place between 8am on Wednesday 6 April and 8am Friday 8 April. So unless you have heard from us to be told otherwise, please attend your appointment as planned.

Doubling up at patient awards

Frimley Health scored a double success at the Patient Experience National Awards with runner-up places in two categories. The trust’s work with The Patient Trust, an organisation set up by former Wycombe Wanderers footballer Howard Kennedy to improve the way people are cared for, was recognised with awards in the categories ‘Strengthening the Foundation’ and ‘Staff Engagement’.
