From 30 September, Frimley Health patients will be able to view and manage their hospital referrals, appointments and supporting information directly through the NHS App.

At present, this is limited to Physiotherapy, but may be rolled out to other specialties in the future.

Until now, patients have mainly used the NHS App to book GP appointments or order repeat prescriptions. With new national features now in place, the app gives people a single, simple and secure place to manage much more of their healthcare. This is particularly useful for patients who attend appointments at different hospitals.

If you’re not one of the 38 million people already using the app, you can download it at: www.nhs.uk/nhsapp

It also provides an additional way for you to access your MFHR account directly from your appointment information shown in the NHS App.

You can however continue to access your MyFrimleyHealth Record account directly through the MFHR app or MFHR website - exactly as you do now.

The MyFrimleyHealth Record (MFHR) app, which is unique to patients of Frimley Health, is still very much in use and can provide a more thorough view of a patient’s health care journey within the trust. Patients can choose to use MFHR as they do now, or alternatively can access it by using the button within the NHS app.

Patients do not need a MyFrimleyHealth Record account to view basic appointment information in the NHS App. Appointment details are securely shared from the Trust’s clinical systems to the NHS App.

What’s new for Frimley Health patients?

Patients under the care of Frimley Health will now be able to use the NHS App to:

  • View and manage hospital referrals and appointments for Physiotherapy
  • Get notifications and reminders
  • Amend or cancel appointments
  • View appointment history
  • Choose paperless communication
  • View waiting times
  • See a single point of contact for appointment queries

How this works with MyFrimleyHealth Record (MFHR)

The MyFrimleyHealth Record app remains available and provides a more detailed view of your hospital care, including letters, test results, clinical information, and secure messaging with your care team.

Patients can continue using MFHR as they do now or access it directly through the NHS App via a new button. Both apps have buttons that link to the other app, so it’s easy to move seamlessly between the apps.

Which app should I use?

Use the NHS App if you want to:

  • Manage GP services
  • View appointments across multiple NHS hospitals
  • Check waiting times and manage referrals – Physiotherapy only at present

Use MFHR if you want to:

  • View detailed Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (FHFT) hospital information
  • See FHFT hospital test results, letters and questionnaires
  • Securely message your Frimley Health clinical team
  • Request FHFT hospital-issued repeat prescriptions

Both platforms are free, secure and easy to use, and many patients will benefit from using both.

Support for non-digital users: Patients will continue to receive letters, text reminders and telephone calls, with a single point of contact available for all appointment queries.
