Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust has launched its bold and ambitious strategy, setting out a transformative vision to enhance patient care, support staff, and modernise services by 2030. This vision — to be compassionate, effective and modern in all that we do — underpins every element of the Trust’s plans and guides how care will be delivered across its hospitals and communities.

Complementing this, the Trust has also released a new clinical strategy, detailing its forward-looking plans for each clinical service to guide day-to-day decisions and ensure consistent, high-quality care across all settings.

At the heart of the overarching strategy are four key priorities:

  1. Highly satisfied patients – Enhancing patient experience by reducing wait times, improving communication, and ensuring seamless access to care.
  2. Engaged people – Creating the best workplace for staff through leadership development, digital literacy, and a strong focus on wellbeing and improving peoples lives at work.
  3. Modern infrastructure – Investing in a new Frimley Park Hospital, modernising Wexham Park Hospital, expanding services at Heatherwood and opening new Community Diagnostic Centres whilst ensuring investment in technology to improve patient experience.
  4. Excellent quality – Embedding continuous quality improvement (CQI), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and cutting-edge research to improve patient outcomes.

The combined strategies represent a commitment to delivering outstanding care by leveraging technology, improving efficiency, and fostering partnerships within the healthcare system. Through these efforts, the Trust aims to meet the evolving needs of the 800,000 people it serves across its hospitals and communities.

The clinical strategy sets out ambitious goals for each service area, focusing on building firm foundations for high-performing, equitable care, delivering excellence in both specialist and general services, and ensuring care is delivered in the right place at the right time – whether in hospital, in the community, or at home. It also supports the Trust's commitment to using resources effectively to add maximum value to health outcomes.

James Clarke, Chief Strategy Officer at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, said:

"Our 2030 strategy is a bold step forward in ensuring that we provide the best possible care for our patients, while also creating an outstanding environment for our staff. By investing in our people, digital innovation, and modern infrastructure, we are laying the foundation for a healthcare system that is sustainable, efficient, and patient-focused. Our Clinical Strategy sits alongside this, helping us make clear and consistent decisions every day about how best to deliver care in every service."

Lance McCarthy Chief Executive Officer at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, added:

“While the NHS continues to face challenges, I am filled with optimism about the future. Our new strategy provides a powerful and positive roadmap for delivering exceptional care, improving outcomes, and ensuring our people feel valued and supported. Together with our Clinical Strategy, this is a chance to shape a stronger, more resilient Frimley Health – one that leads the way in compassionate, effective and modern healthcare.”

The strategy aligns with national NHS priorities and regional healthcare transformation efforts supporting the NHS 10-year plan due to be released later this year. It reinforces Frimley Health’s role as a leader in delivering exceptional care, pioneering new models of treatment, and ensuring financial sustainability.
