Volunteering at Frimley Health

Volunteers make a huge contribution to the health and wellbeing of the nation, giving their time, skills, and expertise freely each year to support the NHS.

We have a professional, committed, and enthusiastic team of over 700 valued volunteers working across the trust. The possibilities for volunteers to get involved in the work of the trust are endless. Each volunteer works diligently to enhance and improve the patient experience at Frimley Health. Our volunteers provide great support to many departments in and around the Trust, and have a personally rewarding experience. They know that each role they carry out makes a difference to patients, staff and visitors. We have volunteers across all 5 sites including Wexham Park, Frimley Park, Heatherwood, Farnham Hospital and Heathlands.

How do I get involved?

All potential volunteers must attend one of our information sessions held regularly at Frimley Park and Wexham Park hospitals throughout the year.

To attend please email fhft.volunteerswph@nhs.net as soon as possible with your name, email address, date and site you can attend and the site you would like to volunteer at.

We will present all the necessary information around volunteering. We will discuss the many volunteering roles available, the recruitment process and what you can expect as a volunteer. Each session lasts no more than 25mins, and normally takes place in our lecture theatres in Frimley and Wexham Hospital. Once you have attended a session you will be emailed a recruitment link.

All volunteers must be aged 16 or over

After you have attended an information session and completed your application, if selected you will be invited for an interview. If successful we will carry out the necessary checks including collecting two references, a DBS (Disclosing and Barring Service check), and completion of an occupational health check. All volunteers must be able to provide three forms of ID including proof of address and photo ID
As soon as all checks have been completed you will then be invited to a voluntary services induction session.
