Professional background
Mr Ashraf is a Consultant Paediatric Urologist at Oxford Children’s Hospital and Visiting Consultant at Wexham Park Hospital (Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust). He also practises at Nuffield Health Oxford.
He specialises in all aspects of general and reconstructive paediatric urology, including minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care. His training began in Pakistan and continued in leading UK centres including Great Ormond Street, King’s College Hospital, and Brighton, followed by a Fellowship in Paediatric Urology in Leeds.
He holds the FRCS (Paediatric Surgery), FEAPU, and European Board Fellowship. He serves on Royal College of Surgeons committees and examines for FRCS and European Board exams. Passionate about education, I regularly lead national and international courses and webinars in paediatric urology.
Research interests
Dr Ashraf's professional and research interests focus on the management of congenital and acquired urological conditions in children, with particular emphasis on hypospadias, neuropathic bladder, and complex reconstructive surgery. He is committed to improving surgical outcomes, long-term bladder function, and quality of life through multidisciplinary care, family-centered communication, and evidence-based practice. He also has a strong interest in transitional care, minimally invasive techniques, and the ethical aspects of paediatric surgical decision-making.
