Dr Lucy Abbott

Professional background

Dr Abbott is a consultant Geriatrician and the Divisional Medical Director for the Community, Older People's Medicine, Neurosciences and Integrated Care directorate and the trust lead for End of Life Care.  She is also the Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Frimley ICB and NHSE SE Regional Clinical Advisor for frailty, working as part of the UEC improvement team. Lucy has worked clinically across all settings including acute frailty, acute inpatient, community rehabilitation, outpatient and hospital at home.  She holds a masters degree in gerontology and has a passion for quality improvement and service development. She has introduced an acute frailty team, older person's short stay unit and hospital at home service as well as implementing the ReSPECT process at the trust and proactive community frailty meetings with community partners.

Lucy took on the role of Divisional Medical Director for Older People, Neurosciences and Integrated Care in October 2025.
