Ascot’s brand new hospital, one of the best of its kind in the UK, will feature at the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust’s annual members’ meeting this month.

The £99m new Heatherwood Hospital, which opened earlier this year, is transforming care for patients across the community, offering state of the art surgery, diagnostics and outpatient care in a magnificent new building.

It will be a key topic at the trust’s Annual Members Meeting, which will be held online on Wednesday 28 September from 6pm to 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join.

In keeping with the trust’s previous annual meetings, the event will also include a review of the year from April 2021 to March 2022 from the Chief Executive Neil Dardis and further summaries of how the trust has performed. There will be an extended opportunity to question presenters and other members of the board of directors towards the end of the meeting.

To join, you will need to register in advance via this link. The agenda is available here.

The trust is also producing a special edition of its inTouch membership magazine summarising events since April 2021, and a ‘virtual marketplace’ which will be hosted on its website shortly, offering more videos, animations, advice and details about health and local care services.

The whole of the NHS has been under extraordinary pressures recently, as we emerge from a global pandemic and face the challenge of responding to growing demand.

You can hear what impact this is having on hospital and community services run by Frimley Health and plans that are in place to improve care for patients.

A highlight of the year has been the completion of the new hospital at Heatherwood, which opened in March and replaces ageing facilities on an adjacent site that dated back up to 100 years.

The new hospital includes six operating theatres, 48 inpatient beds, 22 day-case procedure rooms or ‘pods’ and two endoscopy rooms, along with a range of further outpatient and diagnostic services.

You can hear more about how the new hospitals is helping patients form Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire and tackling the NHS’s waiting list challenges.
