Work starts this week (7 December) at Wexham Park Hospital to provide more than 500 extra car parking spaces for visitors and staff.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospital, announced funding for the extra spaces last year. This was to address a shortfall in car park space on the site.

Contractors are beginning work this week after planning approvals for the 523 extra spaces were finalised.

Janet King, the trust’s director of HR and corporate services, said: “I’m delighted we are starting work on this substantial expansion to our on-site car parking. It won’t solve all our parking problems but it is a huge step towards improving access for patients, visitors and staff.
