Responsible for day-to-day portering services as well as responding to emergency situations, we welcome applications from friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are comfortable dealing with the needs of patients in a variety of situations and sometimes stressful circumstances. You will be required

Portering positions are paid in line with NHS Band 2, rising to Band 3 for supervisory positions, plus an excellent benefits package which includes generous annual leave, a staff pension, staff lottery, childcare facilities and various salary sacrifice schemes e.g. for cyclists.

Barry has been a porter at Frimley Park for nine years.
He says: “On a typical day I arrive at 7am to go through the rotas, check staffing levels and to make sure I can run the shift happily.
“When a job request comes down from the wards it’s down to me and other co-ordinators to assign the teams and send them out in a timely manner to get the job done.
“Throughout the day, I will be checking that the hospital’s corridors are clean and tidy, everything is running smoothly and the team is working well.
“The portering team has moulded into a great group over the years and I really enjoy coming to work alongside people who are friends as well as colleagues.”

Frimley Health is a Trust where great care and great careers go hand in hand. You’ll find a friendly, supportive, open culture that brings everyone together. Our security team is primarily concerned with ensuring patient safety and performs a highly-valued service for patients, visitors and staff.
Our security officers undertake general security duties and are also required to respond to emergency situations. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain a calm approach to sometimes heated situations. You will need to have a flexible approach and be willing to work shifts for this active and quite physical role.
We are particularly keen to hear from people with previous conflict resolution training or experience, although every member of our team is supported with training arranged with an external provider by the Trust within your first few months with Frimley Health.
You will need to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service check, be flexible and have a calm and friendly approach to patients, their families and visitors.
