Frimley Health is a forward facing trust that works well with commissioning groups to be one of the first trusts to introduce extended practice, with physios working with GPs for example.
We have three main sites with Frimley Park Hospital, Wexham Park Hospital at Slough and Heatherwood Hospital at Ascot, and run diagnostic and outpatient services from Aldershot, Farnham, Fleet, Bracknell, Gerrards Cross, Maidenhead and Windsor.
Our large, friendly department comprises 250 dynamic physiotherapists, therapy technicians, therapy assistants and reception staff. All patients and carers are treated in a professional and courteous manner and we ensure they receive the highest quality of care during their visit.
But, it's not just our professional expertise and innovative approach that makes us stand out from the crowd. People always comment on our warm, friendly and welcoming culture – they like working here, and that’s why they tend to stay.
Training and development
We believe in investing in our people and understand that staff satisfaction is inextricably linked to our patients’ experience. We provide opportunities and training for staff to develop within their chosen fields. All physiotherapy staff attend regular teaching sessions to ensure we remain up to date with all treatment techniques and research to deliver optimum care.
As a Band 5 physiotherapist you will undertake four-monthly rotations under senior supervision in MSK outpatients (including hands), orthopaedics, neurology, paediatrics, medical, surgical and ICU. There are two sets of rotations, one within the Frimley Park site and the other set across the Wexham and Heatherwood sites.
Band 6 physiotherapists enjoy robust rotations of eight months and the support given to your continual professional development.
The work-life balance
Our team tends to be an active crowd which finds the Frimley Health catchment area provides easy access to the coast and countryside, and the wide range of sports and activities available to them there. The Chilterns and Surrey Hills, both areas of outstanding natural beauty, offer a plethora of walks, cycle ways and days out, while Hampshire’s coastline is popular with walkers and nature lovers, and is the ideal place to indulge a love of watersports. The county offers everything from golf to horse riding and fishing.
