Working as a nurse on the renal unit at Frimley Park
The renal ward has been recently introduced to the trust, run in partnership with Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust renal department.
Patients on this ward have both acute and chronic renal injury. Patients with stage 3 acute kidney injury are admitted to our ward from all specialities within the trust. This allows staff a great deal of exposure all areas of medical and surgical care and our team is always looking to recruit from different specialities, even those with little or no renal experience.
We have an extremely supportive multidisciplinary team and a group of consultants that are always ready to support their staff. Our team takes great pride in being welcoming and friendly to new staff members. It is also important to be passionate and have pride in the care you give your patients.
For our chronic patients we offer both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, these are skills that cannot be learnt on any other ward. As a fully trained renal nurse you will know these treatments in a lot more detail and will become a source of expertise for all the staff within the trust. To support new staff have a detailed training program and a team of professionals at various stages of their career.
