Working as a nurse on the medical acute dependency unit at Wexham Park

MADU (Medical Acute Dependency Unit) is an exciting unit which is looking for staff who are pro-active and want to develop their knowledge and skills. We opened in June 2017 and our aim is to look after those who are acutely unwell and prevent ITU admissions.

We are continuously developing the unit and inspire to become the leaders in non-invasive ventilation and optiflow, however we admit all patients within the medical specialities.

We have a supportive and knowledgeable senior nursing team who take charge and support our new staff on a day to day basis. We work closely with our doctors and consultant.

We are able to support our band 5 nurses with a variety of specialist courses. We can offer a great learning opportunity / career progress starting with the preceptorship programme if you are newly qualified or from overseas. We have a very diverse and young team and we will make sure you are supported in any possible way. We work a combination of long days / nights including weekends and our shift patterns are 7am to 7.30pm. Our practice development team works very closely with us, and they come and work with new staff members so we can get all competencies signed. We are looking for committed and enthusiastic people to join our incredible team.
