Working as a nurse on Calthorpe ward at Fleet Hospital

Calthorpe ward is primarily a rehabilitation ward that aims to support patients following falls and episodes of ill health to reach their maximum potential and return either to their home or to a form of supported living.

The ward promotes independence for every patient and assesses their needs recognising the individual abilities and potential. We work closely with the family where appropriate and the wider support services, to ensure excellent communication is at the heart of all we undertake.  We have an extremely supportive and proactive team that consists of physiotherapists and OTs, adult services, health care assistants and registered nurses.

The team has a wealth of experience and skills from both the acute and community setting to cater to the diverse needs of the patients. We are proud to be able to provide student nurses on placement with a range of experiences to maximise their learning potential.

We are also able to support our staff to develop their careers and build on existing experience and knowledge.
